Kindergarten graduation book questions
Is a book a good kindergarten graduation gift?
It is the gift that matches the milestone: they just learned to read, and now they have a book about themselves at their level. Certificates go in a drawer. A hardcover with their face on the cover goes on the nightstand and gets read to the grandparents, the babysitter and the dog, usually in that order.
Does it work for preschool graduation too?
Yes. The story is written fresh, so tell us it is preschool or pre-K and we write to that: the classroom, the teacher, the friends, the big move to kindergarten next year. Pick the simplest reading level for a four-year-old and it becomes a read-aloud about a year they are very proud of.
Can the teacher be in the book?
Three people or pets can be drawn from photos, so if you have a photo the teacher is happy for you to use, they can appear as a character. What if my child cannot read yet?
